Josette Kaufman, Executive Director

After a 20-year career as a financial analyst with Fannie Mae, Josette joined the Marshall Foundation in June 2005. Under her leadership the Foundation has initiated new educational programs, spearheaded major fundraising endeavors and planted thousands of native, wetland trees. Josette is a member of the Lake Worth Tree Board and is on the boards of directors of the Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority and the North American Interfraternity Foundation. She also co-chaired the fundraising effort for new educational exhibits at the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, serves as treasurer for the Northeast Greek Leadership Conference and is a Sustainer of the Junior League.

 

Sherri Gilbert, Special Events Consultant

Sherri has spent the bulk of her lengthy career in the non-profit arena, working with a variety of organizations ranging from the arts and education to health and safety. With a background in graphic design and writing, she also ran her own creative services company for several years and taught commercial art and photography. While early positions focused primarily on communications, including public and media relations, Sherri's experience soon included membership services, advocacy, development, and special event planning and management.

Eric Gehring, Director of Education

Eric joined the Foundation in July 2007 and has greatly expanded both the reach and scope of the popular Ambassadors of the Everglades school-year curriculum and Wetlands: Weird, Wild & Wonderful, the Foundation’s summer program. In addition, he’s created numerous customized educational sessions for teachers and community groups, and co-led and workshop designed to help local educators bring the Everglades to their classrooms.

 

 

 

Shannon Duffy, Education Associate

Shannon Duffy is a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Environmental Science and a minor in Anthropology. A member of the Marshall Foundation's 2009 Summer Intern class, she recently completed a one-year teaching internship at the nationally recognized Prairie Wetlands Learning Center in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She is particularly interested in the biological and physical aspects of environmental science such as ecosystem ecology, and how that relates to conservation and education.
