Morikami Park Elementary Students, Faculty, and Families Plant Trees

May 5, 2010 - More than 780 trees, shrubs, and wildflowers were planted at Morikami Park Elementary School in Delray Beach on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Partnering with the Marshall Foundation and the school's PTA's "Green Task Force" on the project were the Florida Native Plant Society, South Florida Water Management District, Pine Jog Environmental Education Center , Palm Beach County School District, Palm Beach County Parks, and the U.S. Division of Forestry. The chairperson of the Green Task Force is Cindy Papadoyianis. In attendance among the approximately 100 participants were Woodie McDuffie, Mayor of Delray Beach, and Renee Elfe, school principal.
